Dai 1 ka (Lesson 1)

BUNKEI (PATTERN)

  1. Subject + wa + Predicate/Noun + desu → positive sentence
  2. Subject + wa + P/N + ja arimasen/dewa arimasen →negative sentence
  3. Subject + wa + P/N + desu + ka? → Interrogative sentence
  4. ….mo…. → particle mo is used after a topic instead of 'wa' when the statement about the topic is the same as the previous topic.
  5. Place + no + status/occupation → this particle is used to connect two noun, it explain that the place which the status belongs.


 

REIBUN (EXAMPLE)

  1. Watashi wa Erika desu. >> I am Erika.
  2. Alex-kun wa nihon-jin ja arimasen. >> Alex isn't japanese people.
  3. Erika-san wa gakusei ja arimasen. >> Ms. Erika isn't student
  4. Anata wa isha desuka? >> Are you a doctor?
  5. Grace-san wa ginkouin desu. Ester-san mo ginkouin desu. >> Ms. Grace is a bank employee. Ms. Ester is also a bank employee.
  6. Watashi wa Indoneshia-jin desu. Erlina sensei mo Indoneshia-jin desu. >> I am Indonesian people. Ms. Erlina is also Indonesian people.
  7. Rebecca-san wa enjinia desuka? Hai, [watashi wa] enjinia desu. >> Is Ms. Rebecca an engineer? Yes, I am an engineer.
  8. Diana-san wa hisho desu. Joey-san mo hisho desuka? Iie, Joey-san wa hisho dewa arimasen. >> Ms. Diana is a secretary. Is Ms. Joey also a secretary? No, Ms. Joey isn't a secretary.
  9. Anokata wa donata desuka? Erlina-san desu. Sutomo-gakkou no sensei desu. >> Who is that person? She is Ms. Erlina. She is a teacher at Sutomo school.
  10. Stefani-san wa nan-sai desuka? 19-sai desu. >> How old is Ms.Stefani? She is nineteen years old .

  1. Watashi    : I
  2. Watashitachi    : We
  3. Anata    : You
  4. Anokata    : That person
  5. Anatagatta    : You (plural)
  6. Minasan    : ladies and gentlemen
  7. ……san    : Mr. / Ms.
  8. ……jin    : a national of……..
  9. ……chan    : suffix often added to a child's name
  10. ……kun    : suffix often added to a boy's name
  11. Sensei    : teacher / instructor (not used when refers to a job)
  12. Kyoushi    : teacher / instructor
  13. Gakusei    : student
  14. Ginkouin    : bank employee
  15. Isha    : doctor
  16. Enjinia    : engineer
  17. Hisho    : secretary
  18. Gakkou    : school
  19. Hai    : yes
  20. Iie    : no
  21. ……sai    : ….years old
  22. nan-sai    : how old
